Job Description | Characterization the biochemical (using mass spectrometry and molecular biology techniques) and morphological profiles associated with brain angiogenesis under hypoxia, and perform evaluations of novel genetically modified animals. The goal of the project is to test our novel mechanism for brain angiogenesis regulation under hypoxia. The long-term goal of the project is to identify a drug target to regulate brain angiogenesis as the recovery mechanism after brain injury after stroke, heart arrest, and other neurotraumatic injuries. |
Salary | From $48,000/year + faculty benefits including fully paid family insurance |
Requirements | A PhD in biomedical or chemical sciences (Biochemistry, Chemistry, Pharmacology, Biology, or related field)
Knowledge and year hands on experience working with analytical techniques, such as: chemical characterization techniques including sample preparation and processing (extraction, purification), chromatography (GC, HPLC, TLC), spectroscopy, mass spectrometry. Minimum 1 year hands on experience with molecular biology techniques (Western Blot, PCR, siRNA). Minimum of one peer-reviewed journal publication. |
