Job Description

The Philadelphia VA Medical Center (PVAMC) and the Department of Neurosurgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure research track. Expertise is required in the specific area of traumatic brain injury and regenerative therapies, including preclinical modeling of closed-head diffuse brain injury in swine, neurocritical care and multi-modal neuromonitoring in swine, modeling disorders of consciousness, tissue engineering, and astrocyte biology. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include conception, design, funding acquisition, project management and publishing the results of brain injury and tissue engineering projects, with hands-on participation as necessary.

Requirements

Applicant must have at least 4 years of relevant postdoctoral experience and must have a record of independent extramural funding to cover majority of salary and research funds at time of hire.
